The Codex 15: Cyprus Island

Zw-codex-15

Commentary: Here, Altair has drawn a map of Cyprus. The Latin translates as Mediterranean sea and Cyprus island. This drawing is significant as this is Altair's hiding place for his piece of Eden. That is PE2. Rodrigo Borgia would later use the Codex pages in order to locate the Apple. The Apple itself was part of the puzzle for unlocking the Vatican vault. Along with Assassin's creed II, Ubisoft published Assassin's creed bloodlines for the PSP. It was a game made by Griptonite Games, a developer studio that primarily made movie titles into handheld games for bigger publishers. Bloodlines was an experiment by Ubisoft in order to see if they could convince buyers of AC II into buying Bloodlines by offering unlockables across the two games. They'd pull this stunt again with AC3 and liberation. The game covered Altair's fight against the Templars in Cyprus. There may have been some contact with Des and his team in the making of this game, but I don't think it was enough to consider it true to the original creators' vision. Nevertheless, from the codex we do know Altair went to Cyprus and liberated it from Templar influence.
On a side note: Griptonite would make several other games, including a mobile game looking at Altair's early days (he gets shot out of a catapult in one sequence) and a nintendo DS sequel to Assassin's creed II where Ezio goes to Spain for some reason. These "entries" into the franchise were later contradicted with Ubisoft's later expansion of the franchise into books and movies, proving they were nothing more then a cynical cash grab without any thought set aside for the original creators. Hence, I will ignore them from this point on.
